I've come back to this, because my mentality has been... all over the place, let's just say. Sometimes, I often find myself falling back into my old ways of when I was selfish in my later teenage years, when I never cared about what other said, when I hated authority so much, and more. I was much more of a mess in 2022, and I hated life now more than ever, and I even acted like a sociopath at times. Chris, I want to extend my thanks to you for making this masterpiece. Life is... so strange, and so painful, and so glorious, and so... long. Ive lived long enough to see my sister and i become power rangers, and eventually surrender our powers as we grew up. Ive lived long enough to see my mother pass, my grandmother and grandfather. Ive retired from the Navy. Ive wailed for so many pets. My longest running friend was ehected from his car and died. I found out from his mothers facebook post. Ive been married. Divorced. Married again. Ive smiled and laughed and cried and thought i was ruined. Ive spent nights alone and sad, ive fallen asleep cupping the breast of a loved one and felt like i was going to be young forever. Ive walked wooded trails and funeral processions. Ive stood for announcements of war, and for a friend receiving an award. Ive seen the sun set on snow, forest, sea, desert, suburb, farmland, city. Ive sat and wept and sat and clapped. Its impossible to sum it all up. To give it all the weight it deserves. But this music is close. So close.
